Course Overview

Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Day This course gives students the opportunity to read and discuss a contemporary British novel written in English. Students will develop proficiency in expressing ideas about novels in spoken and written English, expand their knowledge of English-language culture, and improve their critical thinking skills. By the end of the course, students will feel confident in their ability to speak and write about fiction written in English, and will have learned more about the political and historical events that inform Ishiguro's novel.
