| Course Overview |
Health, Well-being, and Happiness in French Society. In this course, undergraduate students will explore the multifaceted aspects of health, well-being, and happiness within French society. Topics will include the prevention of smoking and addiction, the role of full-coverage health insurance, food quality, and obesity prevention. We will delve into the history of vaccination with a focus on Louis Pasteurfs contributions, also looking at the Covid crisis. Additionally, students will examine fertility trends and public health campaigns. We will also dive into the perceptions of happiness within the French society. The course will utilize a variety of materials, including literature, newspaper articles, essays, videos, news extracts, caricatures, and posters, to provide a comprehensive understanding of these issues. Through these diverse resources, students will develop their French language skills while gaining insights into the cultural and societal approaches to health, happiness, and well-being in France. |
