The worship of heaven and faith in heaven is a universal phenomenon across civilizations worldwide. Ancient China regarded heaven as the macrocosm (the vast universe) and humanity as the microcosm (the small universe). Heaven has both a natural character and a personal divine character. Why could these two aspects coexist without contradiction? In this lecture, we will explore the religious aspects of heaven and interpret Chinese philosophy and Asian religious thought through themes selected from a unique perspective. |
