Course Overview This course will focus on a close examination of the latter half (specifically from Chapter 5 onward) of Roots of Yoga, translated and edited with an introduction by James Mallinson and Mark Singleton, published by Penguin Classics. The class will proceed in a lecture format, with students primarily listening to explanations. However, given the specialized nature of the topic students will likely encounter many unfamiliar technical terms. Therefore, both preparation and review will be necessary to keep up with the course. This is not a class intended for a rapid overview; progress will be slow and deliberate. It is designed for those who wish to gain an in-depth understanding of yoga.
