Course Overview This course will focus on practical content, aiming to enable students to conduct accent research in both Japanese and Ryukyuan languages. The course consists of the following three parts:

・Learning the concepts and considerations necessary for investigating and analyzing the accents of various dialects in Japanese and Ryukyuan languages.
・Studying the history of accent research in Ryukyuan languages over the past quarter-century, while also learning about the distinctive accents of Ryukyuan languages.
・Conducting accent research exercises.
