Course Overview |
This course aims to equip students with the fundamental methodologies of art history through a seminar format. To achieve this, we will cover explanations of art history methodologies, reports on Japanese literature, readings of foreign literature (in English, French, Italian, etc.), and presentations of research progress by students. The literature will be introduced during the class. As the course title suggests, it will primarily focus on the field of Western art, but the studetns are also encouraged to consider the relationships with other regions as necessary. The format, progression, and content of the class will be adjusted based on factors such as the number of participants. The semester-long course and the quarter-long course with the same name will be conducted as the same course. Students in the quarter system should generally take the course on a semester basis. If you have special circumstances, such as studying abroad, and wish to take the course on a quarter basis, please notify us in advance. |
