In this lecture, we will deepen our understanding of the painting of Chan/Zen Buddhism from the following points of view--1) the vision of Chan/Zen enlightment, 2)chinso 頂相 as portraiture, 3)visual representation of the Chan/Zen lineage, 4)contradictory of the image to its inscrition and 5)reprezentation of the illusion and the modern painting in Japan and its zen connotation. |
