Course Overview

Buddhism was founded in India around the 5th century BCE by Gautama Siddhartha (Shakyamuni) and later spread across various regions of Asia, undergoing diverse ideological and cultural developments. In this lecture, we will provide an overview of the establishment of Buddhism during the lifetime of Shakyamuni, its philosophy, and the ancient Indian thought that formed its background. Additionally, we will examine in detail how Buddhism was transmitted to China and India.
