Course Overview In this seminar students will acquire and develop the practical specialist knowledge and skills needed for research in Japanese humanities, including the fields of archaeology, art history, cultural history, history, literature, and religious studies. After laying the foundation by reviewing style and writing requirements, learning how to summarize and critique a lecture and analyze an essay, create an annotated bibliography, and other research skills, students will present their work. Seminar activities include class discussions, the completion of an online course, and student presentations in addition to faculty and guest lectures.
